10.30am - 2.30pm - Nature Connection for People living with Dementia
The importance of connecting to nature for our minds and bodies is well understood, regardless of our background or ability.
Come along to this free event for people living with Dementia and connect to nature at the Barossa Bushgardens.
Share in a BBQ lunch, explore the gardens, wander through the labyrinth, and connect with the soil, plants and people.
Make a pot for seeds, water plants, or sit and hear more about the importance of connecting to nature for health and wellbeing.
Plan your day as you choose, and stay as long as you’re able.
Dementia service providers will also be present with relevant information for carers.
NB.1. This event is open to anyone living with Dementia and their carers and seeks to reduce barriers to nature connection and volunteering.
NB.2. Some activities will require walking along paved pathway. For attendees who are mobility impaired, please feel free to bring any walking support required, otherwise you are welcome to limit your visit to the nearby activities.
Delivered in partnership with The Barossa Council and Northern and Yorke Landscape Board, and supported by Dementia Australia.
